Fabulous Oxford Thames - Four Pillars Hotel in Oxford

Newgate Travel recently visited the 4 star Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel in Oxford.  The Hotel is set in 30 acres of tranquil landscapped grounds set back from the main road. The hotel's location offers peace and tranquility away from the stresses and strains of every day life, but is only a few miles away from the shops and bars and restaurants of Oxford City Centre.  Thus a visit to the Oxford Thames - Four Pillars Hotel - provides whatever your choice of weekend.

The hotel's main reception area is warm and inviting with huge wooden beams across high ceilings with a welcoming fire surrounded by leather armchairs and sofas.    There is a gallery that looks over the main lounge area which is exclusively for hotel guests use. The hotel's bar is located just at the end of the main lounge and under the gallery with a good choice of drinks to unwind over after a long day or enjoy pre dinner.

The classic rooms and standard rooms are large and comfortable with ample space and facilities and the hotel is currently nearly completed on 22 new rooms and conservatory being built on site, due to open in Spring 2013.

The onsite Leisure centre - Jeromes offers excellent swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi plus SPA packages. Gym and beauty treatments all available at the hotel.  The changing rooms for Jeromes Leisure centre could do with a little upgrade.

The restaurant is warm and inviting both for breakfast and for dinner but menu and food is what sets this hotel apart from the rest. The standard of choice on the menu, along with presentation and quality of food is on par with most London Hotel restaurants.   The service was impeccable and dinning a real pleasure.  This hotel should congratulate and hold on to its Chef!
