Warm & Wonderful Irish Welcome Awaits At the Dunraven Arms

On a recent FAM visit I was fortunate to stay for a night at The Dunraven Arms Hotel, established in 1792 in Adare,Co.Limerick, Ireland is an oasis of tranquillity and one of the best hotels I have stayed in. From the moment you walk through the door of the hotel you are made to feel welcome and very much at home.

A log fire was burning in the main reception as well as one in the nearby bar.  The atmosphere was one warm and inviting. Our flight into Shannon Airport ( just 25 minutes transfer away) was a late one and we didn't arrive at the hotel until after 10pm, but it made no difference to the welcome we received. We had a choice of sandwiches and drinks in the bar before retiring to our room. The room (pictured) was first class, you could not fault it.   Huge and inviting with a massive 4 poster bed, sofa, writing desk and chair along with flat screen tv.   The hotel has a further eighty five executive rooms including interconnecting family rooms.

The bathroom was big and spacious with plenty of space for your toiletries and possessions and of course the hotel provided toiletries and wonderful big fluffly bathrobes and slippers.

The next morning we enjoyed a fabulous Irish breakfast with a huge range of choice including a hot gammon carvery in The Maigue Restaurant. The restaurant is called after the River Maigue which flows through the village of Adare, and is a winner of many restaurant Awards.

Although my visit was brief we did get the opportunity for a tour of the hotel with the wonderful charismatic Owner of the hotel, Mr Louis Murphy.    The hotel offers a range of services, both pleasure and business with the Ornate Ballroom a perfect setting for a fairlytale wedding to the purpose built conference centre which can accommodate up to 200 delegates.   The conference centre rooms are all filled with natural daylight and with a delegates package and no room hire this is the ideal base for a conference of any size.  The ballroom provides a truly magical setting for a wedding that can accommodate up to 190 seated for dinner along with fabulous lawns for a champagne reception.

But that is not all that the Dunraven Arms has to offer;  why not relax and unwind in the 17m swimming pool with therapeutic bubble jet seats, computerised gym studio and a steam room.  When you have experienced all of that, treat yourself and try out the extensive range of beauty and massage therapies available in the treatment rooms.   A truly fabulous first class hotel for  business or pleasure or combination of both!
